We will be launching a new training course in English in February 2025: DGNB ESG Manager | International training. With the launch of this new training, there will be changes affecting the titles of ‘International DGNB Consultant’ and ‘International DGNB Auditor’. We’re writing this email to keep you up to date with important information.
DGNB ESG Manager | International training
Our new international training to become a DGNB ESG Manager will qualify you as an expert in sustainable, ESG-compliant property management. As well as gaining the knowledge required to systematically optimise and safely manage existing buildings in accordance with ESG, our training will equip you with extensive application knowledge on conducting ESG verification for the EU taxonomy and the DGNB System for Buildings in Use. This will enable you to systematically plan and implement measures as an optimisation tool. Further information on our training is available on our website.
Your rights as an International DGNB Consultant and Auditor
As an International DGNB Consultant and Auditor, in the past you were already authorised to certify new construction projects, renovation projects and Buildings In Use. Starting in 2025, there will be two separate training courses for this purpose. International DGNB Consultants and Auditors will now be certification experts for new construction and renovation projects, and DGNB ESG Managers will be certification experts for Building In Use. Individuals may obtain both qualifications.
Already planned or registered DGNB certification projects for Buildings In Use?
It’s important to note that if you’re an International DGNB Consultant or Auditor and you’ve already registered a Buildings In Use project for certification, you are still eligible to audit that project. The closing date for registering a Buildings In Use project as an International DGNB Consultant or Auditor is December 2025. Please note that after 31 December 2025, only DGNB ESG Managers will be permitted to register Buildings In Use projects for certification.
Special offer for International DGNB Consultants and Auditors
International DGNB Consultants and Auditors can participate in DGNB ESG Manager| International training for a reduced price and are not required to take the exam. For more information on costs, please visit our website.
Training dates
The first DGNB ESG Manager| International training will take place online on 18 – 21 February 2025. The training will be held as a 4-day digital format (2 x 90 mins daily). For more details on the course content and agenda, please visit our website.
Training is bookable through our website. You can expect to receive confirmation of your booking the next working day, including confirmation that you may participate in the training at no extra cost.
The second training date will be released after February 2025.
Licensing agreement for DGNB ESG Manager
The title of DGNB ESG Manager comes with a licensing agreement. Under this agreement, you are required to participate in continual professional development (CPD/further training) on a yearly basis, starting in the calendar year following your DGNB ESG Manager | International training. In 2026 we will launch our DGNB Expert Day in English as a 3 x 90-minute digital event exclusively for DGNB certification experts. As a DGNB ESG Manager you will be given a number of opportunities to exchange experiences with others, to share and build knowledge, to stay up to date with the very latest DGNB System developments, and to benefit from other interesting DGNB offers. Other options for earning your annual ‘CPD points’ include publishing scientific publications, conducting DGNB certification projects or participating in other CPD formats offered by recognised third parties.
